What is Health Coaching ?

While the other practitioners at GHHC will look at your health history and lab work and make lifestyle recommendations for conquering your health challenges, the health coach will help you implement these changes in your daily life. In your sessions, the health coach will listen attentively, non-judgmentally and empathetically. Together you will draw upon your strengths, define the obstacles, and implement a plan to move forward in reaching your goals. The health coach is your guide, mentor and accountability partner. 

 

In line with GHHC’s philosophy, the health coach looks at the whole person, instead of just at specific symptoms. For example, for someone needing to lose weight - it’s more than just what you put into your mouth and how much exercise you get. There are also other factors - such as stress, relationships, mindset and self image - that affect the chances of success. 

 

A health coach will help you take a look at all factors relating to the changes you wish to make and help you identify the obstacles that are standing in the way. A health coach believes in your innate ability to solve your own problems, and will guide and support you along the way. 

What to Expect?

Health coaching sessions are done available in office or via a virtual office. Single sessions are 50 minutes, coaching package sessions are 30 minutes each.

During your health coaching sessions at GHHC you may:

  • Set short term and long term wellness goals

  • Define the steps to achieve those goals

  • Explore your support resources and how best to use them

  • Define obstacles that get in the way of achieving your goals

  • Celebrate milestones

  • Receive resources and suggestions that have proven helpful for others

 

The National Board for Health and Wellness Coaching, the governing body for health coaches in the United States, defines health coaching as:

 

“Health and Wellness Coaches partner with clients seeking self-directed, lasting changes, aligned with their values, which promote health and wellness and, thereby, enhance well-being. In the course of their work health and wellness coaches display unconditional positive regard for their clients and a belief in their capacity for change, and honoring that each client is an expert on his or her life, while ensuring that all interactions are respectful and non-judgmental.” (https://nbhwc.org/nb-hwc/)

Why WHOLE-LISTIC Health Coaching?

GHHC was founded in 2012 with the mission to address the entire body along with all it's parts i.e. the physical, mental, emotional, energetic, quantum, spiritual etc.

Our mission is to do more than just address your symptoms BUT to get to the root cause of your health challenges by understanding all the key roles players mentioned above. That said, our Health Coaching practitioner is/are equipped with all the tools and strategies you will need for all the aspects and be WHOLE again!
